How and Why should you Join the #1 SBA in the Country
What exactly is the Student Bar Association? We are the Student Government of the Law School. We strive to improve FSU Law in every way possible so that each student can get the most out of his or her law school experience. An overwhelming majority (85%) of the student body joins SBA because of what we provide to each student. Here are just some of things your 3 year membership includes:
1. Admission to our 1L exam prep workshop. With the recent departure of Professor Powell, SBA is going to be offering the only exam preparation course available to law students. We will bring in highly successful students from each section to discuss the specific tactics for succeeding on your first semester exams. (FREE FOOD is provided).
2. Discounted ticket prices for SBA’s Woodser and Barrister’s Ball (Law School Prom). In the past few years both events sold out quickly so this year SBA members will get priority over non-members who purchase tickets for these events.
3. FREE admission and FREE BEER at ALL the SBA socials and events.
4. A FREE locker. I know it sounds like high school, but most first year students prefer to store their books at school rather than lugging them home every night.
5. Admission to SBA’s Legislative Preview. This event allows students to meet with local legislators to discuss current issues facing the State of Florida.
6. Admission to ALL networking events. We are currently planning an environmental law panel, business law panel, and a "start your own firm" panel. These panels allow students to meet high profile professionals in each specified field of law. The student can meet with the attorneys and ask them questions, including how to find a specific job within that area of law. FREE lunch is provided.
7. Organized intramural teams, including football, basketball, soccer and softball, where law students can compete against undergraduate teams.
8. FREE FSU Law Koozie for the first 100 members.
9. SBA co-sponsors events hosting well-recognized speakers. This year’s potential speakers include U.S. Senate Candidate Charlie Crist, Gubernatorial Candidate Alex Sink, and several others.
10. And much more to come....
